With Gratitude

Pastor’s Thoughts

As I look around at all that God is doing here at Salt and Light Church, I’m filled with gratitude. The growth we’re experiencing—new families joining, ministries expanding, hearts being stirred in worship—is nothing short of the Lord’s doing. These aren’t measures of what we’ve accomplished, but testimonies of what God is doing through His church. This is such an exciting time at Salt and Light! The Bible says that “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17). Let’s enjoy the good gifts of God together as we thank Him for His faithfulness and grace.

But with growth comes responsibility. Scripture reminds us that “to whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48). God has entrusted us with a beautiful influence—not for our recognition, but for His glory. That means we are called to steward this season well: to serve humbly, to love deeply, and to shine brightly in a world that desperately needs the light of Christ. Our influence as a church isn’t measured by numbers, but by faithfulness.

So as we celebrate what God is doing, let’s stay grounded in prayer, united in purpose, and ready to say yes to whatever He calls us to next. May we never lose sight of the fact that everything we have and everything we see unfolding is because of His grace and for His glory alone.

Amen.

The Real House of David – Part I: The Rise of David

Message: 1 Samuel 30 – A Fighter With Jesus

This week we turn to 1 Samuel 30, where David faced one of the darkest moments of his life. His city was burned, his family taken, and even his own men turned against him. Yet in that place of loss and despair, David found strength in the Lord. In this passage we see a picture of Jesus — the One who stays when others leave, who goes before us when we don’t know the way, and who restores and rewards far beyond what was lost. Come ready to be encouraged that no matter how weary you feel, you are never fighting alone.

Closing thought

Church, this is our moment to continue living out our name—being the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13–14). As God blesses and expands our ministry, may we carry His light into our homes, workplaces, and community, preserving truth and shining with grace.

Let’s keep pressing forward—serving faithfully, giving generously, and loving boldly. The best is yet to come, and I believe God is preparing even greater things for those who remain steadfast in Him.

In Christ, with gratitude and expectation,

Pastor Kirk
